About Cassànndrè

as a photographer...

I am a natural lighting photographer with a passion for candid photography.

I have three rules for my clients:

1) absolutely NO fake smiles
2) with couples: your job is to flirt with each other. shamelessly. be sexy, saucy, giddy, gooey, sappy, and ridiculously happy in love.
2) with couples: absolutely NO kissing (including "pecks") unless it's long enough for me to take several pictures

I believe that a photoshoot should be fun for all involved and strive to capture my clients' essence through candid shots, natural poses, and genuine smiles.

I probably first became interested in photography at the age of 12 when my grandfather passed on to me his very nice film camera. I began using up rolls and rolls of film, especially on vacation. Then as a teenager I had a couple of simple point and shoot digital cameras. By age 16 I was known among my friends as the annoying one with the camera. Around the time I turned 18 my other grandfather passed along to me one of his beautiful, trustworthy, digital cameras. I've been lost behind the lens ever since! Mostly I began by taking candid shots- of the garden, the pets, my friends... then slowly my friends started to ask me to take photos of them! After a while I realized I had something going for me and started to seriously pursue and accept more and more photographic opportunities. That was two years ago. I now have enjoyed the privilege of shooting single portraits, couples/engagement photos, and even weddings and I absolutely love it.

as a regular person...

I believe that I have the choice to be happy. When I choose to be happy, I see beauty everywhere. I don't know what I want to do with the rest of my life, but it will involve having a family and helping people. I am currently an undergraduate biology major. I cry really easily. I don't like seafood. Or spinach. I'm shy, but I hear that I hide it well. I love to dance and I'm a different person when I play my flute. I absolutely loved cadaver anatomy. I didn't like babies until I was 14. Now I love them and am excited to be a Mom someday (and take millions of pictures of my kids!)

I'm Cassànndrè, and I'm a Mormon :)

I'm a Mormon.

Mukilteo Beach

So I've probably spent more time at this beach than any other. It is literally five minutes from my Grandma's house and when I was little we'd go all the time and feed the birds and play around on the logs. So fun. Sometimes we'd even take the ferry and go visit Fort Casey on Whidbey Island.
I remember one time hearing about my Grandma and Grandpa being on the news. They had decided to take the dog for a walk (good ol' Peppy, the Schipperke) and it was a really windy day. I guess something about the "old" couple and the little black dog appealed to King 5, because they decided to interview them briefly about the wind. I wonder if Grandma still has that video anywhere(yes this was back in the day of VHS tapes)....

this ferry is way out where you don't normally see ferries. grandma told me to take a picture of it in case it's significant.

i really love the way the photos of this cluster of rocks turned out.

i like the reflection.

Seattle Temple

I love this place! It is so inspiring! I was feeling a little uninspired the other day and like I wanted a break from photography. I found these pictures I took of the temple... who knows how long ago-- and started playing with them. It was refreshing and just the pick-me-up I needed to get going and love photography again!

katrina & luke

All of these were edited using lightroom. I'm really enjoying it and will miss it when my free trial runs out. I shall have to put it on my list of things to purchase. So far, I prefer Photoshop for keeping things looking fairly natural but awesome, and lightroom for doing doing dramatic effects.
These two were very fun. We shot down at the train station in Sumner. Katrina had scouted out all the best places for photos and had some really great ideas of what try. Congratulations. you two!
